Description

Escaping work on Friday to head to the desert, I was blessed with some excellent transparency and seeing and a plague of insects.
With night temperatures sitting at around 25c, my poor blue camera was chugging away 100% reaching -15c. It hung in there just fine!

Eventually after a short troubleshooting session, subs began rolling in. Everything was just going exactly to plan. A deafeningly bright milky way stretching all across Zenith, kicking back in my chair with widefield binoculars in one hand, beer in the other.
It was exactly the place I wanted to be.

Interestingly my Luminance subs at 180s were bloating stars far too much in comparison to my 180sRGB frames. I found that combining my sharpest, best performing frames as a super luminance (42x lum red green) as one stack yielded far sharper results than my original luminance. Perhaps next time I will have to either stack far more RGB frames in sacrifice of luminance, or just reduce the luminance exposures a bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated in the comments!

Total: 3hrs 24m (lost most due to luminance bloat)
